Ups and Downs of a Student Ministry

I’m still recovering from a busy Wednesday night, and looking forward to a good Sunday for Youth Sunday.  But it is certainly time to give an update on the student ministry.  No rest for the weary.

Last night our students were a bit of a handful, so I putting out a call for help on Wednesday nights during Frontline.  If you aren’t in a Wednesday night small group and have any availability to lend a hand in corralling the kids, let me know.  Any and all help is needed and appreciated.  I haven’t wanted to come in here and set severe boundaries on the students, but we are now at the point that we must limit where the kids are at all times, as they have been unable to stay in the approved broader boundaries.

I am aware of this issue and will be working dutifully to correct it.  For the foreseeable future we will keep all the kids in the gym and front foyer areas only prior to and after Frontline.  Please assist me by encouraging your youth to stay in these areas only, and helping out on some Wednesday nights.  It’s being addressed, but I wanted to let you all know what the plan is.

On the positive side, when the students settled down, the majority of them were fairly attentive to the lesson.  During the lesson they were challenged to worship God so that God could transform them through worship.  So this was the ups portion of last night.  I anticipate a great youth Sunday, which will also be a nice up for the group and the church as a whole.  Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your kids life.
